Astoria Worker Project
The Astoria Worker Project (AWP) is building worker power one neighborhood at a time, creating a community network for grassroots worker education and empowerment. AWP is a center offering worker cooperative incubation, worker education, mental health programming, and classes on worker rights and civic engagement, with a focus on serving workers at the forefront of exploitation, workers under-serviced by existing workforce development programming, and immigrant communities in Western Queens. All services are free and are offered either directly or through our union and community partners.
The program is based out of the Astoria Food Pantry, a grassroots mutual aid space. For any questions please reach out to astoriaworkerproject@cwe.org.
