A year of supporting workers

Every year, tens of thousands of New York City workers get access to education and child care thanks to CWE. This work is helping change lives and build brighter futures for so many working families in this city. To continue to grow and build upon these programs, we need your support.

2025 kicked off a new chapter for CWE, when Marco A. Carrión became our new president, taking the helm at a moment when the nature of work and necessary skills are rapidly changing and workers need innovative support to succeed. His diverse career in labor, government, and community organizations are an asset as we fight to advance worker training and protections in New York City.

Carrión is now serving on incoming-Mayor Mamdani’s transition team and CWE is ready to work with the new administration to ensure that workers can succeed in New York.

A more affordable city has long motivated our work, from training workers for high-paying, union jobs, to creating new child care scholarships to dramatically bring down costs for working families.

We are also empowering workers to take control of their working lives and stand up for themselves by offering Know Your Rights training for immigrants and financial and business classes for cooperative workers and nannies

The hundreds of training programs CWE provides every year are only possible because of generous funding from worker-champions in our state and local government as well as contributions from everyday New Yorkers.

As 2025 comes to a close, we are celebrating all that CWE and our partners have accomplished over the last year -- and getting ready to do even more on behalf of our city’s workers in 2026. Happy holidays from the CWE family.

Please consider contributing to support our work going into 2026.
