Construction and Industrial

The Construction and Industrial sectors are hands-on and require  participants to have a good understanding of technical skills, math, safety regulations, and maintenance work.  

HVAC 

HVAC stands for Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning. HVAC technicians install, maintain, and repair systems that control air quality and temperature in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. During the training, participants can acquire skills such as mechanical skills, electrical troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, to name a few.  

General Construction and Trades 

A training in General construction prepares individuals to work on building sites, infrastructure projects, and renovations. The key areas covered in training include, but are not limited to: OSHA regulations, Personal Protective Equipment usage, safe lifting, fall prevention, and hazard communication. Participants who complete this training will receive skills such as the ability to solve problems, blueprint, and measure proficiency. 

Building Maintenance 

Participants who enroll in this training program will be equipped with the skills necessary to provide a general understanding of building maintenance responsibilities, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe, efficient, and well-functioning facilities. This hands-on training will cover topics such as introduction to building systems, preventative maintenance procedures and safety practices, and regulations. 

Masonry Restoration 

Masonry restoration training equips prospective participants with the knowledge and hands-on skills that are necessary to repair, preserve, and restore masonry structures such as brick, stone, concrete blocks, and historic buildings. The topics covered in the training will include masonry materials, masonry properties, restoration techniques, and the proper use of tools and equipment. The training will include a combination of hands-on training and classroom instruction. 

Automotive Fleet Technician Pre-Apprenticeship 

This training will prepare prospective participants with the ability to maintain, inspect, and repair vehicles such as trucks, vans, police cars, and deliver vehicles to ensure that they are running efficiently. During the training, participants will learn basics of vehicle maintenance, engine and transmission repair, and safety regulations.
